This is truly tragic because it makes it impossible or at least really awkward looking for me to hang anything else from my ceiling.
(from Zara Home via Black Eiffel)See those beautiful hanging star light thingies in the upper left hand corner pic? I would donate a kidney if I could hang a bunch of them over my bed and use them for bedroom lighting instead of my fan light. Just gorgeous. I've seen variations of those stars in a lot of places (including wonderful pierced tin versions in Mexico) and a little piece of me dies each time I realize me and those stars are not meant to be.
This (extremely affordable) fun pendant would be pretty sweet over my bed as well:

When I browse design sites I always fall the most in love with rooms that have chandeliers. Everything from grand Victorian multi-tiered crystal things to silly ones made from antlers. I just love love love chandeliers. And even if I wanted to spend $2375 on a chandelier, there will never be anywhere in my house for this little beauty:
Alas. My ceiling fan prevails.
Sad day.

Hang them outside on your porch ceiling! :)
I had a ceiling fan all growing up because Las Vegas, like AZ, is hot. But Bart had not been used to them and when we moved here, he was so afraid the one over our bed would fall off in the middle of the night and behead him. Fortuantely, this has not happened.
Janssen- we didn't have ceiling fans growing up in Cali either and I totally had that same fear once we moved to AZ! I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
Yeah, AZ in the middle of summer...in the sleeping quarters...no fan...is just insanity! Pretty star thing, but that cool breeze swishing over you on a 100 degree night at midnight is well...priceless!
