Wes has been doing some SERIOUS teething this week. Like with lots of screaming and a crazy nap schedule and an occasional temperature and extreme neediness. Despite the fact that I've had the car several days this week I have gotten NOTHING done because we just couldn't get out the door.
Plus, less sleep than usual because he's been waking up in the middle of the night in pain and requiring mommy. On Friday night he woke up before I went to bed and I ended up staying up with him until 3. And then I had to wake up at 6:45 to go pick up our Bountiful Basket. And then I was busy nonstop all day so I finally made it to the grocery store for bare essentials at 10pm.
So when Wes woke up at 7 this morning I turned to Aaron and told him to go get Wes. And he said, "You're making me get up? On Fathers' Day?" And I said yes. Because I was too tired to care and I was trying to recover from my 3.5 hours of sleep the night before.
After a couple more hours of sleep I did care and felt really bad. And Aaron was obviously annoyed that the day had such an inauspicious start.
And I just realized that in my mad dash to the grocery store last night I didn't get all the ingredients for Aaron's requested dinner for tonight.
Plus, due to substitute teaching and calling related jobs on my part, Aaron will likely be stuck with our exceptionally grumpy Wes all during church today.
Sorry, Aaron. I wish I could have a re-do. Happy Father's Day! We love you!

Don't worry, it's not going that much better over here : )
So, that whole Bountiful Basket thing needs further explanation, and I know you put a link but I got a little confused : )
Happy Father's Day ; )
I have all those ingredients if you need to come over and get them.
Sorry. Sleep deprivation isn't the best ingredient to getting things done. Maybe Wes is sick, not just teething... just a thought. I find when I realize my kids are sick (especially when medicine can help fix it) that I am more patient, more energetic, and more willing to lose sleep.
Good luck with your father's day!
That's what Father's Day should be about anyway. Christmas is great because you feel the peace of it even amidst all the buying and decorating. Father's Day should be good because we feel appreciated and grateful even amidst all the rough stuff of being a father. But do I know. All I've got is my wife having a big belly and being tired all the time. Cait will probably pull this out to rub it in my face when I complain later.
Kristi- It's a produce co-op in AZ and UT. For $15 you bring your laundry basket and they fill it up with fruits and veggies. We got a TON of stuff. We've been eating our weight in fruit since I picked it up yesterday. It's awesome.
Marisa- Thanks for offering! Unfortunately, it takes several hours in the crockpot so it's already too late. Bah. I'll just have to pick up the stuff and we can have it another night this week.
Megan- It's possible he's just sick, but he really doesn't have any other symptoms. Just the occasional really low fever (like..100.3) and non-stop whining. So I just don't know what else it could be. He's not tugging his ear or anything. I'm open to suggestions! I'm totally beat.
Tim- You're right. Aaron got to celebrate Fathers' Day by being a father. Can't expect anything different!
